1. Filth & Splendour 'Hot Pick'
2. Filth & Splendour 'Kinght Rider'
London based producers Filth and Splendour have put together a tech house EP to blow your minds. The two tracks ‘Hot Pick’ and ‘Knight Rider’ equally showcase what these two, relatively new DJs, are all about, and serves to add another big release to their rapidly expanding string of production efforts.
Both ‘Hot Pick’ and ‘Knight Rider’ are effectively big room techno, with the first building throughout the 6 minutes and gaining momentum at a rapid pace. At mid point ‘Hot Pick’ certainly doesn’t fall short with the odd interception of spaced electric notes the kick is satisfyingly uplifting. ‘Knight Rider’ is the longer of the two, lasting 8 minutes in total, which in turn creates a far darker atmosphere. With slightly lighter synths juxtaposed with the heavy drum beat this track is not for the faint hearted, and serves as a clear example as to why this pair fit excellently into big room DJ sets. Filth and Splendour are indeed ones to watch for 2010.
