Mastering is the final stage before a record is delivered to record stores. Our mastering engineer will ensure your track achieves both sufficient volume and sonic clarity making it sound great on all types of sound systems, from the biggest club systems through to the smallest laptop speakers. Mastering is an essential process in order for your compositions to realise their full potential. Reqiurements for delivery of master recordings to Cr2 24bit 44.1khz or 48khz wav or aiff If you are using any mix bus/master processing to maximise the loudness of your mix i.e. limiters / compressors / maximisers, please remove these before delivery of the final master. A bit of gentle compression to keep the mix together is fine but "brick walled" files leave us no scope to master the tracks effectively. Ideally we would prefer at least 3db of headroom to work with as this gives us enough scope to bring the best out of the track. If you are running a compressor over your final mix to "keep it in check" just reduce the output gain of the plug in / outboard compressor to bring the level down. If no compression is used then simply reduce the level of your master fader. We understand that the 3db headroom level may not always be achievable but the closer you can get to that, the better the final result will be!
