MYNC will be starting their new monthly residency for Gatecrasher in Birmingham tomorrow! Gatecrasher was voted best club in the UK by Mixmag readers, and pulls some seriously big names down so it’s only suitable that MYNC have been asked to play there on a monthly basis. If you’re around Birmingham tomorrow make sure you drop in and say hi!
House maestros Riley & Durrant have teamed up with big time producer Juan Kidd to create the massive electro infused track ‘Da bass’.
Juan Kidd is no stranger to the music industry, he’s been DJing and producing music for several years now, and his style is still continuing to grow. His sound encompasses that of the dark, techy house you can hear in the clubs today and has been picked up by the likes of Pete Tong, Eric Morillo and Cr2’s own Mark Brown. With successful releases previously out on Defected, Subliminal and Size, 2010 is certainly his year. Juan Kidd is no stranger to the club circuit either, having played in some of the biggest around the globe including Sankey’s, Pacha (Ibiza) and Ministry of Sound. Personally he describes his music as house, but when DJing on three CDJs, his set can vary from deep to techy to big room house – and even techno, depending on where the crowd will let him take them.
Nick Riley & Andi Durrant’s knowledge of the industry is similarly second to none, having defied genres and resisted the usual rules of electronic music the pair have been producing music and their radio show for years. As they play and produce a mixture of house, techno, electro and progressive the support they’ve gained from fellow DJ’s has been across the board; ranging from Laurent Garnier to the Swedish House Mafia.

Just found out some very exciting news in the office, our Space Ibiza 2009 album has been nominated in the Best compilation category for the annual International Dance Music Awards this year! We’re all pretty chuffed about this achievement and would appreciate your support by voting on the the website! Chuckie has also been nominated for Best Break-through DJ- happy days.
Chuckie & LMFAO ‘Let the bass kick in Miami bitch’ certainly hasn’t lost it’s momentum, Oliver Lang dropped it during his set at Centenial Hall in Poland in front of 15000 people and the place went off! Check out this vid if you don’t believe us..
We have another new release this week from London duo Filth & Splendour. The boys are relatively new to the dance scene but have already got a residency at Pacha, and have notched up a string of big releases. This new two track release features ‘Hotpick’ and ‘Knight Rider’ both respectable big room tech house- an apt example of what these boys are about! The release is available to buy from the shop and Beatport.

New release this week comes from Maltese producer Jewel Kid in the form of a 3 track EP named ‘Gabur EP’. The three tracks called ‘Gabur’, ‘Myokymia’ and ‘R Dalam’ all delve into the much darker sounds of minimal techno. The deep, moody tones created by this rising star immediately showcase why he is such hot property in his native country. With moments of repetition fitting nicely into the context and genre they allow for you to be wholly immersed in the music. There’s no doubt Jewel Kid oozes talent, including synths in unexpected places Gabur, Myokymia and R Dalam will not be forgotten in a hurry. Click the link to listen/buy.
Some of you may or may not be aware but our head guy Mark Brown (aka Mr Cr2) is sunning it up down under in Australia at the moment- he’s actually been touring as part of MYNC but we’re just insanely jealous in the office! Together with Fidget party Cr2 threw a free party on Bondi Beach to welcome in the new year with some friends and colleagues, have a look at these pics and turn an even darker shade of green.
